Frozen Shoulder Treatment

Frozen shoulder (or adhesive capsulitis) is a relatively common condition. The three main hallmarks of frozen shoulder are shoulder stiffness that comes on for no specific reason; severe pain that becomes worse at night and in cold weather; and near complete loss of passive AND active external rotation of the shoulder. Patients are often too sensitised for manual interventions however low level laser therapy can be applied above the skin. It is non-invasive and painless for patients to receive making it tolerable for sensitive conditions.

Typical treatments for frozen shoulder include pain medications and physical therapies however for most patients the pain is too severe to begin manual manipulation early in their treatment. Our main mission is to decrease the pain to levels where we can include complementary treatments such as trigger point injections alongside low level laser therapy which assist to release the shoulder and allow for more effective uptake of the laser.
